The advice I would give to my younger seld would be; to go for the things you want in life and don’t allow other peoples opinion to stop you. I always dreamed of being a nail tech but was worried about what other people may think. Now that I am a nail tech, I always wonder how much further I would have been if I would have started earlier in life.
What service are you best known for?
The service I am most known for is acrylic toes. I literally have clients that only come to me for french toes. They love to do a nude base with a white french tip, but I love when they switch it up and do another color than white for there french line,
What’s one thing missing in the cosmetology industry today?
One thing I believe is missing from the cosmetology industryis salon culture. Now that salon suites have taken over, salon culture has completely gone out the window. I totally understand that service providers want that intimate, personal vibe with their clients but there is nothing like being in an open concept salon. Growing up in New York and being in the salon; you would have people coming in selling food and clothes. You have music flowing throughout the salon, while service providers would be having girl talk amongst one another.
What’s one turn-off when servicing a client?
A turn off for me when servicing clients would be when they negatively speak about other service providers.I simply will not condone it because I would hate if a client did that to me.
What are your go-to tools and why?
My go to tools are my cuticle drill bits. It’s something about a clean, neatly trimmed cuticle area that takes the set from a 0 to a 10!
Fun fact about you:
Fun fact about me is I am currently in the process of becoming an elementary school teacher. As much as nails is my passion,I love working with kids and making an impact in their lives.
