Why did you choose Cosmetology?
There is a natural friction between who you are and who you want to be, and for a lot of people, that starts with the way you look. I chose Cosmetology because I wasn’t born with blue hair, and that infuriated me.

How did you get started?
It started with Halloween costumes. My mom went to FIT and since then has taken Halloween very seriously. In the off season I started to recreate different costumes and their accompanying hair and makeup. Soon enough I’m at ComicCon every year, with more costumes and wigs than a Party City. I attended a Beauty School in my neighborhood for a Halloween SFX workshop. After the lesson was over, they offered positions at New York City Fashion Week to all attending students. I went to the principal and promised her that if she took me, even if just as an assistant, I would enroll that next semester. We shook hands, and two years later I am a proud American Beauty School graduate.

What service are you best known for?
Hair Color and I have a lot of history. My regulars are hair color freaks too, who often switch up their color. Whether it’s vibrants, at home color corrections, or going back to their roots. Haircut transformations and editorial makeup follow as close seconds. Eccentricity is a big part of my brand, and my clientele follow suit.

What’s your favorite service to provide?
Hair is a huge joy of mine but do I love being a makeup artist. You can find me at a photoshoot, a runway, or a film set. I thrive in new places and I love supporting different teams. The rush of working on a set has proven to be where I shine.

What are three things on my professional bucket list?
I will get my badge for working the World’s Main 4 Fashion Weeks. New York Done, Milan is next. 2. I will lead a production. I’d like to lead a team of creators and execute a shared vision. 3. I will make a stream of income that will directly support the housing and rehabilitation of homeless and disabled.
